And he certainly has his Orc cut out in a new £120 million movie adaptation of the Lord of the Rings.
The Sharpe star is at battle stations as Boromir - the brave but reckless human warrior in JRR Tolkiens classic mythical tale of good versus evil.
And Sean finds himself at the sharp end of a mystical world of elves, hobbits and trolls, as he fights the fearsome Orcs - evil goblin soldiers - for possession of the magic ring.
Sean is one of a star-studded cast including
Cate Blanchett and Liv Tyler as
forest queens and heart-throb Elijah Wood as ring guardian Frodo.
The Fellowship Of The Ring - the first of three movies based on the trilogy - is set to break all records on release in December. Fans have been queueing for up to 12 hours just to see a two-minute trailer.
