Lord Of The Rings Sneak Preview

Fantasy Adventure

The film version of JRR Tolkien's fantasy adventure stars Ian McKellen, Cate
Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Sean Bean and Liv Tyler and was filmed in
secret in New Zealand.

Special effects are now being added to the three films - which will be released over
the next three Christmas seasons - to bring life to Tolkien's world of hobbits, trolls,
elves, monsters and wizards.

The short screening was greeted with a burst of applause from its audience and producer's are planning
a number of events throughout the Cannes festival, including reconstructing some of the sets near to
Cannes, to promote the pictures.

Magical Ring

Director Peter Jackson said: "I think there is a huge amount of scepticism about the risks of doing three
movies back-to-back, so this will be a primer to whet (everyone's) appetite."

The first part of the trilogy, which chronicles the struggle between good and evil for the possession of a
magical ring, will be "The Fellowship of the Ring."
