Michael Douglas says yes to `Don't say a Word'

Michael Douglas and director Gary Fleder of Kiss the Girls have said yes to the thriller Don't Say a Word, which is set for a November 29 production start.

The script, based on the novel by Andrew Klaven, centers on a Gotham shrink whose daughter is kidnapped. It was in development with Arnon Milchon's New Regency for more than five years. Twentieth Century Fox, with whom New Regency is partnered, will distribute the picture, which will be 100% financed by New Regency.

While numerous writers contributed drafts, scribe Tony Peckham wrote an early draft and penned a subsequent rewrite.

Outside of ``Kiss the Girls,'' Fleder has directed such pictures as ``Imposter'' and ``Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead.''

Douglas, who starred in Paramount's ``Wonder Boys'' earlier in the year, can next be seen opposite fiance Catherine Zeta-Jones in USA Films' ``Traffic,'' helmed by Steven Soderbergh, and USA Films' ``One Night at McCools,'' helmed by Harold Zwart.(Variety)
