Steinkamp, Minasian 'Don't Say a Word'
By Erin Lauten
William Steinkamp, A.C.E. ("Scent of a Woman," "The Fabulous Baker Boys") and Armen Minasian ("Down Periscope," "RoboCop 2") have signed on to edit "Don't Say a Word" for director Gary Fleder ("Kiss the Girls"). The thriller is shooting in Toronto and New York and should wrap production on March 16.
"Don't Say a Word" is based on Andrew Klavan's eponymous novel about a New York psychiatrist who must race against time to rescue his kidnapped daughter and wife. A patient gives him clues linking them to an evil man in search of an ancient Russian triptych worth millions on the black market. The film stars Michael Douglas and Oliver Platt. Amir M. Mokri ("Coyote Ugly," "The Joy Luck Club") is the director of photography.
This is the second collaboration for Steinkamp
and Fleder, who worked together previously on "Kiss the Girls."
Steinkamp's other credits include "Out of Africa" and
"Tootsie," both of which earned him Academy Award and
ACE Eddie nominations. Minasian worked with Fleder on "L.A.
Doctors" and the upcoming science-fiction film "Impostor,"
slated for release this summer.
