Evening Standard Review

Evening Standard (3 Jan 1999)
BRAVO TWO ZERO
9.30pm BBC 1

The same platoon that gave rise to Chris Ryan's ITV drama The One That Got Away also included former SAS comander Andy McNab (played here by Sean Bean). Suffice to say that McNab, unlike Ryan, was the one that didn't get away, but was captured by the Iraqis while fighting his way to the Syrian border. The first half hour is largely laddish larks - moonies, going to the loo in each other's rucksacks - intercut with real Gulf War footage and set to a rock guitar soundtrack. The sort of stuff that will appeal to armchair soldiers.
